Sift is run by Oxycon. Using the app means accepting what is written here. It is written in plain
words on purpose; where it is short, that is because there is genuinely nothing more to say.

What the app does

You give it an address. It fetches that page when the feed is read, and on its own schedule if
you set the source to refresh that way. It turns what repeats on the page into a feed you can
read anywhere, and optionally scores every entry against criteria you wrote, using a language
model key you supply. That is the whole service.

Your account

One person, one account, one password of at least twelve characters. Keep the password and the
two access tokens to yourself. The feed token is the one that looks harmless and is not: it
authorises every feed, publication and analyzer feed address of your account rather than the one
you pasted it into, so anybody holding it can read all of them and can make the app fetch those
sources. Either token can be regenerated on the Settings screen, which immediately invalidates
the old one.

What you may point it at

Point it at pages you are allowed to read. Do not use the app to get at anything behind a login
that is not yours, to work around a paywall, or to break the terms of the site being fetched.
A source is normally read again no more often than its own refresh window allows, though a
request that explicitly asks for a fresh fetch bypasses that window, so do not point a script at
one in a loop. A free account is limited in how many sources it may have and how many browser
renders it may spend in a day; do not try to get around those limits with several accounts.

An account used to attack a site, to break the law, or to make this app a nuisance to somebody
else is closed without notice.

Your own model key

Scoring runs on your key, at your endpoint, and at your cost. What that provider charges you is
between you and them. The app caps how much of an item's text one prompt carries,
but it cannot promise a bill: an analyzer you point at an expensive model and run over thousands
of items will cost what that model costs.

What you keep

What you write stays yours: your sources, your criteria, your collections and their items. You
grant nothing to us by putting it here beyond the permission to store and process it so the app
can work. Your feeds are plain RSS and your items can be read out through the API at any time,
so nothing you put in is locked in.

What is not promised

The app is provided as it is. It fetches from sites nobody here controls: a site can change its
layout, block automated readers, go behind a challenge page, or disappear, and any of those stops
a feed until its plan is repaired. There is no uptime guarantee, no guarantee that a fetch
succeeds, and no guarantee that a score is right. A score is a language model's opinion, not
advice; do not make a decision that matters on a number alone without opening the item.

To the extent the law allows, liability for a loss arising from using the app is limited to what
you paid for it in the twelve months before the loss.

Changes and endings

These terms can change; the date at the top says when they last did. You can stop using the app
at any time and ask for the account to be deleted (see Privacy). We can close an account that
breaks the rules above.
